Summer of Psalms

The book of Psalms is unique in all of scripture in that it’s made up of human words directed toward God that God divinely returned as divine messages to humankind. It is a collection of various types of poems that express the entire range of human emotion; from joy to devastating sorry, from shouting rage to peaceful acceptance; transparently and vividly. From this book, we can learn untold numbers of lessons about God, about humanity, about creation and about relations between all of these.

Our schedule this summer is:

June 17            Psalm 100                    And Now the Service Begins

June 24            Psalm 42                      Longing for God When Downcast and Depressed

July 1               Psalm 82                      God of the Nations

July 8               Psalm 139:1-18           God: Our Knowing Companion

July 15             Psalm 139:19-24         God: Our Knowing Judge

July 22             Psalm 88                      Where Do You Turn When All Appears Hopeless?

Join us each Sunday morning at 10:30 am and invite someone to come with you.
