January 20 – Choose the Right Path: Proverbs 2:1-11

How to Choose the Right Path in our lives is a core message from the Book of Proverbs. This is the second of a series of sermons, “Wisdom for Living in Turbulent Times,” in which Pastor Cy explores biblical wisdom literature beginning with Proverbs.

In this sermon he examines Proverbs 2:1-11 to see how Godly wisdom speaks to the turbulent times in which we live. We find ourselves surrounded by a humanitarian and political crisis at our southern border as families flee violence and extreme hardship and overwhelm our understaffed and unprepared immigration system. And the crisis doesn’t stop there, extending throughout our nation exemplified by massive human suffering caused by the partial government shutdown..

He goes on to explore how to choose the right path of Godly wisdom that advances righteousness, justice and fairness. We gain a right relationship with God through Jesus, strive for just relationships with others, and work toward fair and equitable political, social and economic systems.
